 Oricane offers a suite of efficient algorithms and data structures for packet classification to support cutting edge switching, forwarding, security, and traffic shaping applications where guaranteed performance is crucial. Besides guaranteed classification performance, which is essential to prevent network delay and support sufficient Quality of Service to deliver traffic intensive real-time media, the algorithms also features guaranteed performance in terms of maintenance and storage.
Oricane target customers are vendors of software based network equipment, such as routers and firewalls, as well as vendors of custom hardware classification engines for high-end network equipment. Oricane solutions are implemented in ANSI C and available as a collection of software modules with watertight seals between classification software and maintenance software.
